During daily status update meetings, team members provide updates on how well they’re doing. They share work items on a board and describe the progress they’ve made. They also discuss challenges and identify barriers that prevent them from achieving their goals.
A daily update can take many forms — from a simple daily log or activity report to more reflective updates that focus on specific decisions, challenges, and accomplishments. Each team finds a form that works best for them, and may experiment with different types before finding their ideal format.
Regardless of the form, all daily updates share one common feature: they’re quick, efficient, and held asynchronously so teammates can participate at a time that fits their schedules. They’re typically broadcasted in a team channel so that the content is accessible to all teammates.
To add daily updates to your Action, configure one of its intents as a triggering intent and set the daily update option as the response for that intent. To personalize your daily updates, you can collect custom parameters from users when they register for this intent (instructions vary depending on whether you’re using Dialogflow or the Actions SDK for development).
At their scheduled time each day, the user receives a notification on their device that prompts them to invoke your daily update intent and interact with your Action. They tap the daily update prompt and follow a conversation that’s pre-designed to include a short, relevant, and useful Daily Update.
